Project Progression & Soft Skills in a Professional Environment

Okay, This week I had planned to get into the studio with Jacob (the drummer who was spoken about on a previous post). Unfortunately he was not able to make the session due to his band needed more practise for an upcoming live performance. This put my planning somewhat out of order and caused me to rethink each stage of my production plan that I had left. Considering that my contribution was fair between the two of us, I allowed plenty of time to practise with a scratch track and booked the studio upon the drummers request (allowing him to choose a time when he was free). Even though he is going out of his way to do this recording for me, he still agreed to work with me as his producer. I chose to accept and allow his absence in the studio and did not follow up with him to book another studio session.
Several days later, I was sent drum stems for the first song (Someone) that was requested. They were recorded well, but had a few things that I would have liked to be done differently. This was a big learning curve for me in regards to my transferable skills. I took note on the downside of having poor communication methods and what it is like on the end of the scale, as far as punctuality goes. These were the two soft skills I spoke about in a Previous post, I have experienced the effects of these skills in a professional environment and have taken note of the ways I can continue to work on them.

On the bright side! I have gotten in contact with a design student named Shailey Brown. She has been excellent to work with and we have already made a lot of progression on my album cover. I wrote an individual post that goes further into detail about this topic though, considering this post is for general weekly reflection.

I have finished the production for the introduction track of my project. I can't wait to share it with everyone, for now I am going to send it to film students and other creative minds for feedback on the work so far.
