The ball is well and truely rolling now, all cylinders are firing and were in 6th gear (week), This is the week where I have to present a finished version of the Remix I made for project one. I'm just glad that I figured out the tuning issue I was experiencing in earlier weeks, I cover what happened and how I overcame it in THIS BLOG. Sorry for the emphasis on the capital letters... *dramatic pause*

Sooky has gotten some designs back from the student she had previously linked up with in week 4!

This is what we received....

Pretty nice, right? Sooky took on the role of project management and compiled the groups content into one folder for submission. Caelan's Reimaged version is sounding awesome and he has done a fantastic job of mixing he track. Overall, This project was a great learning curve. There are many ups and downs when it comes to group work, and considering there were 4 members of our group, it required a lot of communication and trust that everyone would hold up their side of the plan. Initially we planned to release 2 of the 4 versions of Love Will Tear Us Apart in the first 6 weeks and release the other 2 in the second half of the trimester. Although sometime during the week, we mutually agreed that for the second part of the tri, we would choose to do individual projects and not a group project. So this made our planning document speed up about 200%, and instead of having 2/4 tracks done by this week we now need to have 4/4 complete in accordance to our production plan. I'm very thankful that I was able to overcome the technical issue I had to face in order for me to complete my submission.

In correlation to the original plan, I think we did a good job. I joined the group late (in week 2), and everyone had to deviate from the original plan to allow me to assist with the production. Our final submission was 3 out of the 4 songs we initially stated were going to be apart of the project, but we had a fall through in communication in week 4. I think the main reason for this was because, by that stage we all had our own work to focus on for the final collective piece of work.

There are many areas of my craft that I can improve on, not just on the production side of things but to also better my transferable skills. Communication is something that I have always struggled with, whether it be due to a fear of failure (of some kind) or because I have difficulty trying to explain what my thoughts are through words. Take all of this out of the picture and I am still left with a crucial skill that I MUST get better at in order for me to successfully progress in the profession of my choice. I am able to work on this with the help of my peers and lecturers, by asking for feedback and asking questions about topics I do not know, It will help me feel more comfortable communicating with co-workers about topics that I'm hesitant to speak up about. Punctuality is another soft skill that I feel like I can work on. This skill is a lot easier for me to work on, It's a matter of taking a couple of extra minutes out of my daily routine to prepare things for the next day or writing notes down as I am given important information (times, dates, locations, etc.). This way, when it comes to writing up blogs or writing in a weekly planner, I already have the important information that is needed.

With the EVO SHO Project finished, It's now time for me to start my next project, I guess...

Till next time!

Jordan.
