Oski & Hydraulix - Loose it (feat. Macntaj)
When I create music, I explore my emotions to unravel a specific time or experience in my life. I chose Loose It, a song from Oski's EP (2017), 'Kid Calamity', as the first song to describe myself and my inspirations. It has a subtle yet bold introduction and verse with an anxious break leading to a unique drop. Loose It gives me creative inspiration because it can be portrayed in different ways with multiple feelings. Having bouncing drums, a high octave melody, distorted and heavily compressed bass with a dark low drone synth and intense vocals. I am able to listen to this song and feel something different each time, it is not bound by one genre or style.

XXXTentacion - Look At Me

Look At Me inspires me due to its raw form. It has little to no mixing or mastering done to it, the bass has been compressed and limited to such an extent that it goes against almost all standard production techniques. It is very distorted and an 'in your face' production, and it has an overall expression of anger and hostility around it. It showcases that no one is perfect, everyone has off days and we don't always have to wear these masks which mainstream society portray as the norm. It gives me motivation to make music to comply with my emotion and to create depending on what I believe fits right for a song and not what I am told is the correct way to do so. Being human and not always possessing a persona is what makes music raw art.

Zotti - ADHD

The third song I have chosen to describe myself and inspirations is ADHD, by Zotti. This piece of work has an extremely different and unorthodox approach to production and I believe it portrays my unique approach on life. Having used an array of human voices along with the un-quantized, chaotic percussion and a multiple octave melody, it shows that being normal is only a perception which we tend to base off our own experiences and knowledge. Even though individually they might not be what is expected of ones self , together they have amazing creativity and originality.
